1. Our Commitment
BioDwell is committed to making our website and the services we offer accessible to everyone, including people who use assistive technology. We design and build with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our conformance target and continue to improve coverage as we ship new features.
2. Conformance Status
This site is designed to substantially conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Substantially conforms" means we follow most of the standard, but we recognize that some pages may have areas that fall short. We treat accessibility issues as bugs and prioritize them in our normal release process.
3. Measures We Take
- Semantic structure: headings, landmarks, lists, and tables follow document outline best practices so screen-reader users can navigate efficiently.
- Keyboard support: all interactive controls (links, buttons, forms, the cart drawer, the cookie banner, the unlock gate) are reachable and operable from a keyboard alone.
- Visible focus: a visible focus indicator is shown on every focusable control.
- Forms: every form input is labeled, error messages are announced, and required fields are marked.
- Color and contrast: body and UI text meets the WCAG AA contrast ratios on light and dark themes. Where color is used to communicate state, a non-color cue (text label or icon) accompanies it.
- Reduced motion: the site honors the operating-system prefers-reduced-motion setting — autoplay video and large transitions are disabled when that preference is on.
- Alt text: images that carry meaning have descriptive alt text; purely decorative images are marked as such.
- Responsive layout: the site adapts to viewport widths from 320 px up, supports 200 % browser zoom, and works at the 200 % text-only zoom level required by WCAG SC 1.4.4.
4. Known Limitations
We are working on the following items:
- Some background hero videos are decorative; we provide a non-video fallback poster image and pause autoplay on prefers-reduced-motion, but a "pause/play" UI control is on the roadmap.
- Live customer-support chat front-ends an AI agent. Screen-reader and keyboard support for the chat widget itself is provided by our vendor and is reviewed quarterly.
- PDF reports we deliver to customers (sample collection guides, lab reports) are reviewed for tagging and reading order, but older archived PDFs may not yet be fully tagged. If you need an alternative format of any specific document, contact us — we will provide one within 5 business days.
5. Compatibility
We test against the latest stable versions of:
- Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop and mobile
- VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
- NVDA and JAWS on Windows (most-used flows)
- TalkBack on Android (best-effort)
6. Report a Barrier
We treat accessibility feedback the same way we treat security feedback — we want to hear about it. If you cannot complete a task on this site or run into a barrier, please tell us so we can fix it.

When you contact us, please describe the page, the action you were trying to complete, and the assistive technology you were using if any. We respond to accessibility reports within 2 business days and aim to resolve issues within 30 days; we will keep you informed as work progresses.
7. Alternative Access
If you cannot use the website to place an order, contact us by phone or email and we will help you complete your order over the phone — at the same price, with the same regulatory checks applied to your shipping address.
8. Formal Complaints
If you believe BioDwell has not adequately addressed your accessibility concern, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice (ADA). Nothing on this page waives any right you have under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the California Unruh Civil Rights Act, the New York State Human Rights Law, or any other applicable law.
