Of environmental health research driving our methodology.
Built by scientists, for every space.
In homes, apartments, and offices alike, BioDwell puts research-grade environmental testing (and the BioDwell Scientific Review) directly in the hands of the people who live and work there. No inspector referral, no corporate gatekeeping, no subscription.

- The background
For three decades, our scientific founder worked at the highest levels of environmental health: national laboratories, major hospitals, defense facilities, and the cleanup of catastrophic contamination events.
- The insight
The same rigorous testing methods used to clear a laboratory or a hospital wing could be delivered to any home. The science existed. The lab network existed. The interpretation frameworks existed. What was missing was accessibility.
- The gap
A commercial environmental inspection could run thousands of dollars, require a referral, and arrive as a document nobody outside the industry could interpret. People deserved better.
- Today
BioDwell closes that gap.
Why people trust us
Phase I–IV trials led by our CEO in prior roles, the evidence-based discipline behind how we read your data.
Critical contamination incidents handled across North America by our scientific leadership.
Four rules we don't break.
The standards behind every kit and every report.
- 01
Evidence over anecdote
No "proprietary algorithms," no colorful grading systems. The lab numbers are the answer.
- 02
Accessibility over gatekeeping
Lab-grade environmental testing shouldn't require a commercial inspector referral.
- 03
Plainness over alarm
We tell you what mattered and what didn't. No fear-based upsells. Results are informational, not medical advice.
- 04
Agency over subscription
Buy a kit, get a report, decide your next step. No recurring anything.
Scientists. Researchers. Builders.
The four people who decide what gets tested, how it gets interpreted, and what lands in your inbox.
Mark ArvinPhD, MSc, MPH
Three decades setting the scientific standard for how indoor environments get tested.
Since 1992, Mark Arvin has dedicated his career to environmental health science: understanding how built environments affect people. After beginning his career in nursing, he pursued public health research and earned his doctorate in Molecular Microbiology at Oregon Health & Science University.
Over three decades, Mark Arvin has led critical incident response and engineering controls for national laboratories, major hospital systems, defense agencies, correctional and educational facilities, and residential sites, from catastrophic contamination events to long-term hazard remediation across North America.
At BioDwell, Mark Arvin sets the scientific foundation: every test methodology, every interpretation framework, and every lab partnership reflects protocols built and validated over 30+ years of field work.

Cory HuffineMS, RN, RRT, FNP-C
Turning complex science into answers people can actually use.
Cory directs BioDwell's strategy, vision, and growth, bringing more than 23 years of clinical experience to the company's mission. A family nurse practitioner with a foundation as a Registered Nurse and Respiratory Therapist, his career has spanned family medicine, urgent care, hyperbaric medicine, and pain management.
As a Clinical Research Investigator for over 11 years, Cory has led 300+ Phase I–IV trials across diverse therapeutic areas, experience that informs how BioDwell translates complex environmental findings into clear, actionable information for customers.
A Boise High and Boise State alum, Cory, his wife Esther, and their children spend their time in the Idaho outdoors: hiking, paddle boarding, skiing, mountain biking, and exploring the Northwest.

Esther HuffineMS, RN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC
The operational backbone behind every kit and every report.
Esther leads BioDwell operations with precision and care. Dually board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, she brings years of clinical research leadership to the team: protocol design, risk assessment, regulatory compliance (IRB, FDA/EMA), and data integrity across complex trials.
Her focus on ethical standards, quality control, and operational efficiency shapes how BioDwell handles everything from kit fulfillment to customer support. Alongside this, Esther's curiosity about how a person's whole environment can shape well-being is what drew her to the BioDwell partnership with Mark Arvin in the first place.
Esther and Cory call Idaho home.

Jalen WinegarAS
Connecting the field work to your experience as a customer.
Jalen connects the field work to the customer experience. With prior roles as a Clinical Research Coordinator and in perioperative care, he brings the collaborative mindset that comes from high-stakes healthcare environments to every kit we ship and every report we deliver.
A former High School Baseball Coach, Jalen credits coaching with shaping his leadership approach: build culture, make clear decisions under pressure, and treat every individual with the same respect. That team-player mentality carries into his work with clients, labs, and the technology platform that turns raw data into reports people can actually use.
An avid outdoorsman, Jalen centers his life around faith and family.
